The Indonesian Actuarial Journal expects the research it publishes to be reproducible. Every manuscript must therefore carry a Data Availability Statement, whether or not the underlying data can be shared.

The statement should indicate which of the following applies:

• the data are openly available in a named repository, with a link or a Digital Object Identifier;
• the data are published by a third party, such as a regulator or an industry association, with a link to the source;
• the data are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request;
• the data cannot be shared, with the reason stated, for example a confidentiality agreement with the data provider, the protection of personal data, or intellectual property rights; or
• no new data were created in the course of the study.

Where the analysis depends on code, a model, a protocol, or a set of assumptions, authors are encouraged to make these available on the same terms, since in actuarial research the method is often as important to reproducibility as the data itself.

Authors must ensure that any data they share have been anonymised or aggregated to the extent required by the applicable personal data protection rules, and that sharing does not breach any agreement with a data provider. The journal does not require authors to share data where doing so would be unlawful or would breach a confidentiality obligation; it requires only that the position be stated openly.

Reviewers and editors may ask to see the data or the code supporting a manuscript during the review process. A refusal without adequate reason may be grounds for rejection.
