Articles published in the Indonesian Actuarial Journal form part of the scholarly record and are therefore not altered or removed after publication except through the formal procedures set out below. The decision in every case rests with the Editor in Chief, on the advice of the Editorial Board and, where necessary, of independent experts.

Correction

A correction, published as an erratum where the error was introduced by the journal or as a corrigendum where it was introduced by the authors, is issued when an error affects part of an article but does not undermine its main findings or conclusions. The correction is published as a separate item, is given its own Digital Object Identifier, and is linked to the original article, which remains available and unchanged.

Retraction

A retraction is issued when there has been a breach of research integrity, or when a serious error means that the data, findings, or conclusions of an article can no longer be relied upon. A retracted article is not deleted from the website or from the archive. It remains available, but it is clearly marked as retracted on the article landing page, in the full text document, and in the metadata. A retraction notice is published separately, explaining which article is affected, what action has been taken, on what grounds, and by whom the decision was made. The notice is linked to the article and the change is propagated to the Digital Object Identifier record and to the indexing services.

Withdrawal

Withdrawal applies only to a manuscript that has been accepted but not yet published as a final article. A withdrawn manuscript is removed before it enters the published record. Once an article has been published, whether in an issue or as an article in press, it can no longer be withdrawn and must instead be corrected or retracted.

An author who wishes to withdraw a manuscript at any stage before acceptance must write to the editorial office stating the reason. Withdrawal after the review process has begun is discouraged, as it consumes the time of reviewers and editors.
