The Indonesian Actuarial Journal (IAJ) publishes original research in actuarial science and its applications. A paper may draw on probability theory, statistics, operations research, numerical analysis, data science, mathematical economics, or any other branch of applied mathematics, so long as it bears directly on actuarial practice.
The journal serves actuaries in practice and in research across Indonesia and the surrounding region, as well as the wider international actuarial community. Its intended readership includes academic researchers, practising actuaries in insurance and pension institutions, regulators, and postgraduate students in actuarial science and related fields.
Scope
- Life insurance and annuities, including mortality and longevity modelling
- General and property-casualty insurance, including loss reserving and premium rating
- Health insurance and social security schemes
- Pension and employee benefit schemes
- Risk management, solvency, and capital modelling
- Actuarial aspects of finance and investment
- Statistical, computational, and data-driven methods applied to actuarial problems
- Regulation, professional practice, and public policy bearing on actuarial work
Papers opening up new areas of interest to the actuarial profession are especially welcome, as are papers describing open problems that have arisen in practice. Submissions must be relevant to actuarial science; manuscripts in general mathematics or statistics without a clear actuarial application fall outside the scope of the journal.
